Who is eligible for an education visa in Thailand?
The education visa is suitable for anyone aged 15 years or older who wishes to stay in Thailand for more than 6 months. However, individuals who have received more than 3 entry stamps into Thailand within a calendar year may be denied an education visa.

Requirements for an Education Visa (NON-ED):

  • Passport with at least 6 months validity and at least 4 blank pages.

  • Copy of TM.30 form (you can obtain this from your landlord).

  • Proof of housing rental for the visa duration, a copy of the property title document, and a copy of the property owner's passport (provided by landlords).
- You submit the required document package to us. On the agreed day you will need to appear at the immigration office for photographing.

- The visa processing time is up to 30 days. After this, you receive an education visa for 3 months. Every 3 months, you will need to visit the immigration service to extend your visa for another 3 months.

- At the end of the year, it is possible to reapply for the education visa.

Typically, it takes about 30 days to process an education visa. If your current visa does not have sufficient time left, a border run (exit and re-entry into Thailand) may be necessary.

You will be enrolled in courses for English, Thai, or Chinese language. Whether to actually attend these courses is up to you, as there are no government exams at the end of such courses.

Where can I get documents proving home ownership?

All Thai landlords are aware that their tenants often need these documents for visa purposes. Ask your landlord for them.
